Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping mall is due to open in Dubai at the end of the month of August 2008.

Dubai Mall, Emaar Malls Group's flagship shopping mall development, will be situated at Downtown Burj-the pride and joy of the region's most prominent urban development thus far.

The opening of Dubai Mall will be another addition to the emirate's inspiring portfolio of shopping excellence, resulting in a record growth in Dubai's retail sector.

According to industry estimates, it has lately been uncovered that the retail sector in the Middle East is expected to go beyond £250 billion by 2010, and Dubai will be leading the way..

Dubai alone accounts for more than half of the UAE's shopping pace and has long been known for its malls and the range of shops.

Dubai Mall, with a size of fifty football pitches, is expected to draw more than 30 million visitors in the first 12 months of its opening. An entertainment and lifestyle destination, it will introduce new entertainment and leisure concepts, set to change the present day shopping experience.

Among the pioneering attractions that the project will feature are twelve hundred stores and one hundred and twenty food and beverage outlets.

Besides this, the new building will also have superb water features, the world's largest indoor gold souk, one of the world's largest indoor aquariums, the region's first SEGA indoor theme park and an Olympic-size ice rink.
