This week, Wizz Air, the low-fares carrier based in Hungary, has marked its fourth anniversary. The budget carrier officially celebrated its fourth year of operating services on the 19th of May.
The first flight of Wizz Air took off from Katowice International Airport and in the year 2007 it served around 4.2 million travelers, an increase of 40 per cent on the previous year. No wonder that in the coming time, the airlines would be able to take up the number of passengers to a new height.
And, in the current year, the carrier expects that it would serve more than 6 million customers-a reflection of what they would achieve in future.
Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive at Wizz Air said that the carrier's high-quality service standards have helped it to attain its growth.
Mr. Varadi said, "Wizz Air continues to win the hearts and minds of millions of passengers travelling in Europe. I am proud that the company's fast pace of growth has been achieved by maintaining high-quality service standards recognised by our customers not only on board but by a number of awards that we have received this year".
He further said, "Wizz Air is well positioned to become the single largest airline of all in central and Eastern Europe in the near term".
Wizz Air operates its services to a total of fifty destinations and around 12 million travellers have now made their journeys with it on more than 100 routes.
