Virgin Atlantic has warned that it will stop operating its services to Kenya if the political unrest boils over again.
In the month of January, the East African nation was pitched by post-election violence, as tribal groups hit the streets to announce the narrow re-election of Mwai Kibaki, the current president.
Although hundreds of people lost their lives in the riots, Virgin Atlantic continued to operate its services to Kenya even as other airline companies ceased their operations. But it has warned that it may have to pull out the services from the country if the events do not stop.
Sir Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin Group, said, "We lost millions and millions of pounds but we decided to stay as we thought it was the right thing to do".
He also warned that if civil unrest returns the company will have no option but to pull out immediately.
He said, "If politicians mess up again we will go elsewhere to show them the damage they can do. We stuck with it this time but certainly wouldn't again. We all have to hope the politicians put their country and people before themselves".
At present, Virgin Atlantic is offering fares for its flights to the capital city of Nairobi from London Heathrow airport for just £417.80 return. The fares are valid for travel between now and the 19th of June, and between the 25th of August and the 8th of December.
