The German Airline, Hapag Lloyd Express is withdrawing a number of flights. Some flights that do not have many passengers are being withdrawn by this low-cost airline. The flights from Newcastle Airport to Cologne/Bonn, Munich and Shannon will be ended in October. Flights from the German capital, Berlin to Olbia, Naples, Palermo and Pisa in Italy are also ceasing to exist.
Hapag Lloyd Express flights to Spain are also being scaled back by axing the routes to Bilbao and Valencia from Hanover and Stuttgart. The flights from Newcastle to the northern German city, Hanover and from Cologne/Bonn to Bilbao and Valencia will however be continued. The existing flights between UK and its German destinations will be starting from £9.69 tickets each-way.
This declaration is part of the German airline's major re-organization operations. The airline will also be introducing to its passengers a number of new Central European routes on the later part of this year. The airline also has plans to take over the flights from Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and Munich to Zurich that were formerly operated by the Swiss Air.
The passengers of Hapag Lloyd Express who have their eyes set on flying from the north-east to Germany, have the option of taking a flight to Berlin with easyJet. Ryanair also offers a flight to Dublin from Newcastle.
Hapag Lloyd Express provided no-frills services to European and German destinations. The chief competitors of this German airline are no-frills carriers like Ryanair and easyJet.
