Representing a new path to promote the presence of Singapore in international destinations, a new Singapore Centre has been formally inaugurated in London. With the opening of the new center, the nation's agencies can now respond fast to new business opportunities.
The new opening is a one-stop shop that unites Singapore's Tourism Board, Economic Development Board and Maritime and Port Authority under one roof. It is expected that this new centre would increase a whole lot of influence of Singapore in London, and people there would be able to get closer look about Singapore's business items.
Integrating the overseas economic agencies of Singapore is designed to attain greater mutual effort, helping them to respond fast to new business breaks, while projecting the interests of the country around the world.
It is also expected that the new office will drive down the operational costs.
Lim Hng Kiang Minister for Trade and Industry said, "We have the agencies together; they can mutually support one another. But more importantly it's to provide good service to people who visit the centre".
The minister further said, "The agencies provide a full range of services, whether it's investment opportunities, employment opportunities or just visiting Singapore".
Until now, the Singapore Centre opened in London is the fourth and largest consolidation of the overseas offices.
More Singapore Centres are projected to help bolster the overseas presence of Singapore worldwide.
