Plans have been revealed by Shaheen Air to start operations on a new route between Leeds Bradford Airport and Islamabad-the capital city of Pakistan. The airline is to start its new service from the 7th of February, and will be offering a non-stop twice a week service from its Yorkshire hub.
This would greatly strengthen the tourism ties between the two countries, as the flight options between UK and Pakistan are limited and apart from British Airways, there are not many airlines that offer flights to Pakistan from UK. So, now with the flights from Shaheen Air, passengers will have more options to do so.
Seats are available now for bookings, with the ticket prices starting from just £460 for a return flight. All the taxes are included in the ticket price.
The carrier said that they would be liked by the Pakistani community staying in Leeds Bradford and its surrounding area.
Khalid M Sehbai, Chairman of Shaheen Air, said, "It is a matter of immense pleasure and pride that Shaheen Air International shall be servicing [the] Pakistani community, living in Leeds Bradford and its catchment areas, at their doorstep. I am sure that Pakistanis living in and around Yorkshire will strongly support the new service and thus encourage us to add more frequencies from Leeds Bradford".
At present, Leeds Bradford Airport offers air travel services to a number of destinations in the Europe, UK and further. Some of these destinations include Miami, Barbados, Amsterdam and Prague.
