SAS Scandinavian Airlines will start operating its second non-stop route between Asia and Stockholm with the start of flights between Bangkok and Stockholm from October 29. The airline will operate the new service three times a week.

The new addition is a part of the airline's latest clear intercontinental focus to grow with additional non-stop flights between major Asian hubs and the Scandinavian capitals as announced previously this year.

Irmgard Goetjes-Pedersen, Acting General Manager SAS Australia and New Zealand, said, "The additional non-stop services direct to Stockholm provides an excellent alternative gateway to Northern Europe. With connections to a strong network of more than 45 destinations in Scandinavia, Finland the Baltics and Europe".

Irmgard further said, "We can now offer even more flexibility of routes via Asia in co-operation with our airline partners from Australia, as customers now have the choice of non-stop flights from Bangkok to either Stockholm or Copenhagen".

The new flights will take-off from Stockholm at 20.30 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and will land next day at 12.50, and the flights from Bangkok will take-off at 14.40 on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and will land at 20.05 the same day.

SAS Star Alliance member Thai Airways presently fliees from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney directly to Bangkok. The carrier operate 36 flights a week between Australia and Thailand.

Complimentary accommodation is provided by SAS at Bangkok's Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel for transfers six hours or greater.
