Popular scholarship launched by Avis
UK Travel

Previously this week, Avis, the car hire firm, unveiled its 12th annual 'Travel Agent Scholarship of Excellence'. And, within the first few hours of the submission being online, it received 2 applications, showing the popularity of its programme in the market.

A prize packaged worth over $30,000 is to be given to the winner of the scholarship. In addition, some new benefits will also be awarded to winners this year. So, this is a great opportunity provided by the car hire company to its customers.

The changes made to this year's programme include an improved educational feature including a complementary module on cruise training, which is sponsored by the 'International Cruise Council Australia'-so you should surely try your hand on this.

The Avis Travel Industry Manager, Mr. Russell Butler said that the continuing loyalty of the sponsors of the programme spoke volumes to the programme's strong points.

He said, "With the ICCA joining, it adds to the credibility of the awards. It is a new breed of travel consultants we are talking to".

According to Mr. Butler, the scholarship is not based on the sales record of a travel agent with Avis. He also said that it is open to all travel consultants within Australia.

Avis Advisory Board Member (Axis Travel, Adelaide), Max Najar, said, "It sticks to its original aim of delivering customer excellence.  It's not an educational or FOC, it's a scholarship, the best scholarship in Australia".
