According to the recent report published by the Department of Transportation and FlightStats, the three New York City airports are found to report the largest number of delays over scheduled flights during the month of July among all the major hubs scattered across the US. Over and above, the report says that JetBlue carries the worst on-time record for the month.
At the outset, this summer has proved to be a delay nightmare for most of the customers, especially for those who travel through the airports located in the New York City area, as reported by the two reports.
Flight-tracking firm FlightStats and the DOT have said that among the major US hubs, the three major New York City-area airports reported the greatest number of delayed arrivals during this summer. FlightStats also noted that JetBlue Airways showed the worst on-time performance among all the major carriers during the month of July. In addition, according to DOT, the performance of American Airlines was the worst for the month of June.
On the other hand, Salt Lake City International Airport was the airport that boasts of the best on-time arrivals performance with the Southwest Airlines taking the honours for the best airline, as reported by the FlightStats.
Among the 40 busiest airports in the North America, New York's Kennedy Airport came in last, with a single on-time arrival rate of only 54.79 percent during the month of July, as noted by FlightStats. In addition, LaGuardia Airport of New York is noted for the second-worst performance for the month July, with an on-time arrival rate of 58.43 percent.
