According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, a new luxury-class carrier is going ahead with intentions of introducing flights on the route from Manchester Airport despite the problems engulfing the sector, with all three all business class carriers flying from the UK going out of business in the last 6 months.
Premjet, the luxury class airline, is getting ready to launch flights next spring, making use of 80-seater Boeing 737 jets. So, passengers still have the chance to have more flights from this airport though lots of airlines have discontinued their flights in the past.
The carrier is planning to operate flights to Malaga and Alicante in Spain, Faro in Portugal and Palma, Majorca, with a total of fourteen flights per week.
The carrier will target well off leisure travellers, including those having holiday homes across the north.
Andy Mitchell, the company's Director, said, "We continue to seek investment and our timetable remains unaffected. We believe the demand exists for our service and we believe it will be successful".
Mr. Mitchell said that travellers would be able to avail the carrier's online check in facility and also have the access to airport lounges.
He further said that that ticket prices for the new services would be competitive.
Based in Croydon, Premjet is headed by Chris Belcher, chief executive. The carrier's board includes former director of Manchester Airport, Paul Connellan, who is a non-executive and is serving as an adviser.
