New learning tours for kids in Lake District
UK Travel

By enjoying a magical trip to the Wizards on Windermere event, at the Aquarium of the Lakes, in the beautiful Lake District, kids can enhance their witch or wizard ability this October.

The Aquarium's version of the Sorting Hat is awaiting their landing and children will find which house they are in by withdrawing a sticker. Then, they can get entry into the Aquarium's inner chamber, and be lured by wonderful creatures.

Families will be moved into a frightening forest, to be face to face with beings seeming to have amazing magical powers, like a creepy looking haired dragon, a tarantula and a witch's choice - a toad. y!

At Meet an Owl sessions, important messages will be delivered by owls and their care-takers during the week. On 23rd, 27th and 28th October, the Corio Raptor Care and Rehabilitation Centre will bring a few of its active representatives and tell about its work with the injured and sick owls, while on 25th October the World Owl Trust will explain owl conservation.

On24th October, Cumbria Wildlife Trust's Angela Reid will present the Trust's fascinating, fresh Wildlife in our Churchyards project.

As children find hidden, ancient runes, a cracking time will be had throughout the week.

The arts and crafts exercise will include wand-making and children can check some spells, possibly on the big fresh-water fish collection.

Ticket price is £7.50 for an adult, £5.00 for a child, £6.50 for concessions, and the family tickets start at £22.00.
