An intensive growth in tourism in Montenegro, addition of new accommodation facilities, and continuously rising number of overseas tourists coming to Montenegro demanded plenty of the transportation facilities.
In order to meet the demand for an improved air access, Montenegro Airlines added more flights to the existing routes and started new services to locations that were recognized as the most important originating markets for both tourism and business. This is great news for passengers who are looking to visit Montenegro from London, as they would be able to take direct flights.
As of June 15th, the carrier is starting a new service on the route from London Gatwick to Tivat. Initially, it will operate two times a week flight, on each Wednesdays and Sundays, and later will start third weekly flight.
Flights from Tivat to London will take off at 8:30 a.m. (on Wednesdays and Sundays), and flights from London to Tivat will take off at 10.55 a.m. (on Wednesdays) and at 11.10 a.m. (on Sundays). So, passengers can easily avail the services of these two flights and later with the popularity of the route among the passengers, perhaps the frequency will be increased.
Last year, the number of tourists from Great Britain who came to Montenegro has increased significantly.
According to the official figures, about 15,324 tourists from Great Britain came to Montenegro, which resulted in 90,543 overnight stays, almost fourteen per cent higher than in the year 2006.
