Michaela Strachan to open virtual dive bell in The Lakes

In a much awaited move, Michaela Strachan, the TV celebrity is officially opening the stunning new facility 'The Virtual Dive Bell' of the Lakes Aquarium, at Lakeside, near Newby Bridge on 29th March at 1.45 pm. Best known for her high profile children's programs and wild life programs, Michaela Strachan will mingle with families between 1pm and 4pm besides officially cutting the ribbon and offering her views on this wonderful facility. 

Accompanied by the winners of a story competition organized in LA postcodes, Michaela will herself take a voyage on the Virtual Dive Bell. On her voyage at the virtual dive bell, she will test her nerves during encounters with hippos, crocodiles, sharks in addition to experiencing the interactive created with cutting edge technology forming part of this facility including quizzes, games, skill based and wildlife based knowledge and other fun activities. She will also go through circus workshop and watch some of the most interesting creatures like marmosets, piranhas, mudskippers and tropical fish of many colours.

Katherine Beaumont, Aquarium of the Lakes marketing manager observes, "Our new feature isn't all about thrills and spills, even if these will offer memories lasting a life-time. It has a big wildlife and conservation element as well, which is why we felt Michaela Strachan was the perfect celebrity to be part of our family event."

The price of entry tickets for adults is £8.50 and £5.50 for children, with free entry for children below 3. Family tickets are also available.
