Lufthansa has launched a brand new all-premium Boeing Business Jet service in partnership with PrivatAir, the Swiss-based business aircraft operator, connecting Munich and Dubai. This is a welcome news for passengers who are looking to travel from Europe to Dubai, which is fast becoming the destination of the world.
Presently, the airline is flying Airbus A340-300 on this route. However, with effect from 1st May, the company is going to switch to a Boeing 737-700, operated by another carrier. So, passengers will be able to plan their travel more freely with increased availability of seats with Lufthansa.
The airline has nevertheless declined to confirm the plan saying that it is still exploring the various options for the all-premium route. The spokesperson remarked, "The planning is not yet closed. We're still evaluating different possibilities and different routes on which to deploy Lufthansa business jets."
According to a PrivatAir source, the airline is to fly a 737-700 BBJ1 on the Munich-Dubai route on German flag carrier's behalf.
Since the opening of a Dusseldorf-Newark premium service in 2002, Lufthansa has been cooperating with PrivatAir. Since then it is also exploring the various routes in which the aircrafts of PrivatAir could be operated. This move followed the decision of the airline to withdraw its all-business transatlantic operation at Dusseldorf favouring the installation of A340 services.
Notably, all the services of the all-business flights are to end on the 30th of April before the launching of the Dubai operation.
