In a highly welcomed move, Longueville Manor has launched its New Leaf Campaign, the umbrella under which the company will give shape and implement its various activities demonstrating its commitment to the environment. The five point plan of the campaign dwells on the impact of the hotel on the environment, in addition to detailing the most suitable business practices for the future in the areas of environment, education; recycling, energy and water are saving.
Longueville Manor is a wonderful property with a vast resource owned by the company including over 15 acres of woodland. The property is highly equipped to lead an environment friendly initiative in the tourism industry in Jersey.
Malcolm Lewis, Owner of Longueville Manor observes, "New Leaf is a great step forward for us and something we have wanted to do for a very long time. Environmental responsibility is becoming increasingly important politically, but also individually for guests, hence for us as a business this is a natural progression in today's environment but also something we feel passionately about on a personal level".
During the first phase of the campaign, the staff at Longueville Manor will be educated on different aspects of sustainable business practices and different aspects of responsible tourism. Following this, the guests will be enjoined to make environmentally friendly choices during their stay contributing to the efforts of the hotel. The green packages take the guests to the hotel's kitchen garden, cycling and walking trips and to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
