The new route of Jet2Holidays.com-the low fares carrier-from Leeds Bradford to New York has proven to be very popular with female customers more than male passengers.
The budget carrier has revealed that 72 per cent of the seats on the route have been booked by female travellers. The carrier said that should this trend persist, its route from Leeds to NY, which was introduced on 8th May, would turn out to be the most popular route for female passengers out of Yorkshire.
Jet2holidays.com's general manager, Mandy Round, said, "We knew this would be a popular route for Christmas shoppers, but we didn't anticipate it would have such a strong female bias.
Although there are a lot of couples booking, all-girl groups have proved massively popular, many no doubt inspired by the premiere of the new Sex and the City movie-in fact, already we've got one party booking of 12 females". The company is expecting that the trend might continue for sometime.
Currently, Jet2Holidays.com is offering return travel from Leeds Bradford to Newark along with accommodation for 3 nights in the month of December for a price of just £699 per head. All the taxes and charges are included in the offer price. In the coming weeks, perhaps the prices could go up due to increased pressure of fuel costs and consequent rise in air travel fare by almost all the leading airlines of the world.
