Kwik-Fit go green
Green Travel

With public becoming increasingly more conscious of environmental issues, the UK's first green car service-Go Green has just been floated by Kwik-Fit. The service is aimed to promote motorists run cleaner, more efficient vehicles and as a result reduce their motoring impact on the environment.

A carbon offsetting company also receives £10 as donation on the customer's behalf from Go Green to neutralise their motoring footprint for a period up to six months.  This move by the car would surely encourage more car companies to go for green revolution.

An extra cost £29 of a normal interim service is charged for Kwik-Fit's Go Green service. With this, various other checks and enhancements that turn your car into a green machine will be performed by them.

The CarbonNeutral Company that specialise in climate friendly projects around the world to reduce or absorb carbon in the atmosphere, receives directly a third of the £29 (£10) of the Go Green charge to organise the carbon offsetting activity. Renewable energy, methane capture and energy efficiency are included in these projects.

"Go Green is a great way for those motorists that are concerned about the damage that their car is inflicting on the environment to do something about it. We believe that this is the first such service of its kind in the UK and would urge other car servicing companies to follow suit", commented David White, director of customer services at Kwik-fit.
