Following Air France, KLM has now expanded its check-in service with the use of mobile phones. With effect from 4th September, travelers flying alone to Amsterdam from any of the European KLM destinations and vice versa can check in just by using their mobile phone--this will certainly revolutionize the concept of check-in among European destinations.
The above said service is designed for those mobile phones that have Internet access and is optimized for high-resolution mobile phone screens. Once you enter your e-ticket or booking code in addition to your flight number, your details will be displayed on the screen. There you can check in the assigned seat and also make changes if you wish. Then you can choose to get a free text message with all the check-in details as a handy reference. You can then collect your boarding pass from the he check-in machines at the airport.
From September, KLM will also provide the option of subscribing to a text message service through 'My booking' at Klm.com. Giving a direct access to mobile check-in, this personalized service will save a great deal of your time. As you can check-in for your flight anytime and anywhere, the entire process is made easier.
During future developments, you can even expect to get your boarding pass on your mobile phone with a bar code. This barcode can be used to make the boarding easier as you will no longer require a printed boarding pass.
