At the recently held presentation evening of Leicester and Rutland Restaurant 2007, the Red Lion Inn at Stathern, Leicestershire, has been credited with the prestigious award of the 'Best Local Produce Menu'--a great way to begin the winters indeed.
Lead by Sean Hope, owner/chef, the whole team at the Red Lion Inn is highly fervent about using local produce to the maximum. They have established a very strong alliance with the suppliers in the area ensuring the purchase of high quality ingredients for their foodstuff.
On 13th November, Red Lion Inn is to offer a demonstration of preparing delicious 3-course menu amidst the inn's traditional and cozy surroundings, using a select range of local supplies of autumnal produce. The demonstration will commence at 10am with coffee and will go on till 12.30 ending with lunch and a glass of wine.
Sean observed, "We have always placed huge emphasis on sourcing and using the very best foodstuffs and drinks from the local area, and have spent a great deal of time in forging strong relationships with specialist suppliers in the traditional 'gourmet' Vale of Belvoir where the Red Lion Inn is situated. It's therefore very nice indeed to win an award of this stature that recognises our efforts in this key area of our business. Our customers already seem to recognise and enjoy the local produce on our menu and it is for this reason that we continually strive for excellence in this area."
