Glasgow's biennial International Festival of Light, Radiance comes back to the city from November 23 to November 25. The festival is part of Winterfest Glasgow 2007, funded by the Cities Growth Fund.
Lighting artworks will witness courtyards, structures, and even gable ends from High Street to Buchanan Street changed by internationally renowned designers.
The highlights of this year's event include the project of Xavier de Richemont at Glasgow Cathedral, where the whole of the Cathedral will emerge as a present-day scene. His work was never seen in the UK before this.
Another piece which will attract the attention is by UVA, whose work has featured in videos for stage shows of The Arctic Monkeys and Massive Attack.
Other sights include changeable lighting schemes allowing the visitors to see hidden or forgotten parts of the city.
The festival will take in fifty locations along 3 routes: History, Light Art and Gardens of Delight. It will also include a walking trip and film and music activities.
"The Radiance festival transforms buildings in the city centre through the innovative use of lighting, giving a new perspective to the viewer. I am delighted by the quality of the artists at this year's festival, and I am sure that the thousands of people who will come to see the Radiance events will enjoy a wonderful weekend", said Deputy Lord Provost Allan Stewart.
