An interesting exhibition about what life was like for British living under the Roman rule is approaching Preston. The exhibition will be on display from Saturday at the Museum of Lancashire, in Stanley Street, Preston, and will remain until December 21.
A touring exhibition from National Museums Liverpool, the Â'Living With the RomansÂ' is supported by its Partners in Art scheme, which presents the untold story of life in Roman Britain. This would be a very unique experience for the people wherever the exhibition moves, and would educate the people also about historical background of British life under the Roman rule.
The new exhibition will share in much of the information uncovered to date. It features over two hundred Roman items brought from the national collection and Lancashire County Council museums collection–-many of these items have been displayed rarely before.
"At the height of the Roman Empire, the North West was one of the furthest outposts", said John McGoldrick, from the Museum of Lancashire.
The exhibition is very good opportunity for visitors to have a peep in the Roman life of British people. There are not so many opportunities for such a real treat of history being offered to the people of London.
The museum is open for visitors on Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10.30am to 5pm. The admission for children is free, however, the admission charges for adults and concessions £3 and £2 respectively.
