Flybe, the low-cost carrier, has asserted that all bookings confirmed with collapsed carrier EuroManx will be honoured. This is welcome news for passengers of EuroManx who had booked the tickets with the airlines but are not able to fly with it. Flybe will be offering them the travel.
According to the carrier's chiefs, claims made by travellers that they have not been relocated without charging an additional fee as assured are unfounded, reports iomtoday.co.im.
A couple from the Isle of Man, Sarah and Cedric Flower, have said that they were informed that they would not be able to change their ticket if they don't have the written proof of the booking they had made through telephone.
As such, the travellers had to buy new tickets with Flybe.
On the other hand, a Flybe spokesman has said that it is not essential that EuroManx customers need to have a written proof if they want to fly with the carrier.
He said, "Flybe has a full and, to the best of our knowledge, complete record of all EuroManx booking references made before the airline's collapse.
Flybe has now successfully re-accommodated more than 20,000 passengers without charge and has been delighted with the very positive feedback received from Manx passengers".
He further said that all the travellers who would like to be re-accommodated on a Flybe flight can contact the carrier's call centre on 0871 522 6157 or can also enquire at the ticket counter at IoM Airport.
