Travellers will be able to enjoy flying with Emirates' state-of-the-art A380 plane for the first time on the 1st of August, when the carrier starts its first A380 commercial flight on the route from Dubai to New York JFK.
Emirates' first A380 service, a 14-hour non-stop journey, will also be the first ever commercial A380 flight to the Americas.
HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Emirates Airline & Group's Chairman and Chief Executive, said, "The Americas represent a key focus area in Emirates' route development plans, and we are delighted to be the first airline to launch commercial A380 services to the continent.
We are confident that Emirates' customers travelling to and from North America will welcome the A380's additional space and capacity, as well as our luxurious onboard amenities which will provide a very high quality travel experience previously associated only with private jets".
Having been kept under covers until now, the airline's A380 interiors and onboard product will be uncovered for the first time when the carrier takes the delivery of its first A380 aircraft from the Hamburg facility of Airbus on July 28th.
On the 1st and 3rd of August, the carrier will operate its new A380 plane on the route between Dubai and New York JFK on a commercial basis.
The inaugural services will be additional flights to its existing twice daily service. Later, the carrier will use the new A380 plane on the route between Dubai and New York, on one of it's scheduled two times a day service.
