easyJet, one of the largest low-fare airlines in Europe, started its first flight to Faro, Portugal from Glasgow, giving customers in Scotland the chance to getaway to the sun.
The London Luton based airline will operate the new service two times a week: on Tuesdays and Saturdays. And, during the busy summer period of June 26th to August 28th, it will be operating on a three times a week basis. One way tickets are available at a price starting from just £23.99.
The budget carrier expects to serve 16,000 travellers on the route over a period of next one year giving Glaswegians an opportunity to enjoy a visit to the favorite holiday destinations: Faro is also a popular destination among golfers.
easyJet's David Osborne, said, "Another popular destination on the easyJet network has landed in Scotland. This direct route to Faro has already proven a popular choice and will offer all Scots the opportunity to experience the glorious Algarve from their local airport. Forward bookings for the route have been very strong which further proves the demand for direct low-cost flights from Glasgow to the sun".
Flights from Glasgow to Faro: departure at 7.35 a.m. and arrival at 10.50 a.m. (Tuesday); departure at 5.30 p.m. and arrival at 8.45 p.m. (Thursday); and departure at 2.30 p.m. and arrival at 5.45 p.m. (Saturday).
Flights from Faro to Glasgow: departure at 11.20 a.m. and arrival at 2.30 p.m. (Tuesday); departure at 9.15 p.m. and arrival at 12.25 a.m. next day (Thursday); and departure at 6.15 p.m. and arrival at 9.25 p.m. (Saturday).
