UK's largest carrier, easyJet, today announced that from this spring it would start operating its services on a fresh route-from Newcastle to the Spanish city of Murcia.
The airline will start opertating its services on the new route from May 17, 2008. The carrier will offer a three times a week flight on the new route. Passengers can make bookings for their seats now. Ticket prices are starting from just £23.99 one way. All the taxes are included in the quoted price.
Murcia will be particularly liked as a family hotspot and a mini holiday spot and the airline expects to serve around 41,000 customers on this new route in the first year of its operations.
easyJet UK General Manager, David Osborne, said, "Murcia has proven to be a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK and now independent travellers from the North-East can take advantage of this new service from our Newcastle base, to one of the Spain's most popular city's which provides easy access to the picturesque Costa Dorada. This new route will increase the number of easyJet destinations from Newcastle to 17, re-enforcing easyJet's commitment to the North East".
Murcia, nestled between Alicante and Almeria on the Costa Calida, is filled with eighteenth Century architecture.
