Passengers will be offered an opportunity by Emirates to travel between Dubai and London Heathrow on one of its new flying machines, Airbus A380 super jumbos, later in the current year.
The carrier has revealed that the introductory flight between Dubai and London Heathrow will fly on the 1st of December. An Airbus A380 with the capacity to accommodate 489 passengers will be used for this flight. The seats that are available in the introductory flight are: 14 in First Class, 76 in Business Class and 399 in Economy Class.
While announcing these details, the airline has also revealed that it would start operating a flight to New York from Dubai on the 1st of October and offer an air link to Sydney-Auckland from the 1st of February, next year.
Emirates Airline's President, Tim Clark, said, "Our A380s will take to the skies in late summer, signalling an end to our long wait and ushering in a new era for Emirates".
Clark further said, "We have played an integral role during the design and development stage to tow the aircraft from the drawing board to the production line, and we look forward to bringing them into commercial service".
With more than fifty Airbus A380 super jumbos on order, the airline will become the biggest operator of these flying machines. The carrier expects to receive delivery of 5 of the double-decker flying machines over the next year.
