As part of a plan to tackle climate change head on, Carbon Challenge Groups will measure personal carbon footprints in Cambridgeshire.
A local environmental organization, Cambridge Carbon Footprint is organising Challenge Group sessions for this autumn after successfully arranging Carbon Challenge a year ago.
Over the upcoming months, friendly and informal groups will be meeting for six times to discuss about the topic of climate change and find out the way to proceed further. The meetings for the discussion will be starting in the month of September.
The friendly and informal groups' meetings will include specially designed games relating to the climate change and short videos-this would be great opportunity to come closer to understanding the problems related to climate and environment.
During the first discussion session, the members will be encouraged to measure their individual carbon footprints.
Later, the main focus of the discussions will be on energy saving in relation to the transport, home, food, waste and regular consumption.
These meetings will be taking place in the evenings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with the groups running in Cambourne, Cambridge and Saffron Walden.
A pack full of relevant information about changes will be given to each group member. The informational pack can be helpful in cutting down our carbon footprints.
