Despite the growth of holiday markets and the emergence of new destinations, Spain continues to attract great numbers of British holidaymakers. Based on a survey report released by Holidays-Direct.co.uk, an online travel agency, Barcelona is listed as one of the topmost choice besides some other favourite locations at Spain. In addition, there are also a range of new city break destinations emerging throughout Spain.
With most Brits choosing their holiday destination only four weeks prior to booking their trips, Holidays-Direct.co.uk says that most of them look for destinations in Spain with city breaks in Barcelona. Some of the other notable favorites for Brits are Greece, Lanzarote and Tenerife, while the other favorite city breaks are Venice, Dublin and Rome.
Jon Pearce, Holidays-Direct.co.uk personnel remarks, "We all know that Brits love holidays in Spain, they have been a favourite for years, as have holidays in Greece. There are plenty of cheap holidays available in both destinations. The other top 10 holiday destinations are the Spanish islands (the Canaries and Balearics) as well as the Caribbean, Tunisia and Sharm el Sheikh."
Barcelona secures the topmost position in the Citybreaks-Direct.co.uk's most viewed list. Following this, the other top ranks are reserved by Rome, Dublin and Venice. In addition, there are also some new cities that attract Brits namely Prague and Krakow that assume the top seventh and fifth places in the list respectively.
