It is party time for Bmi regional for being labelled as the most punctual airline in the UK for the first nine months of 2007. According to the data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), 91 per cent of the airline's flights took off within 15 minutes of their scheduled departure time between January and September the previous year.
The award won by the airline would certainly help it to rope in more passengers, as in today's scenario, the time and schedule makes a lot of difference. The flights which were delayed by bmi regional functions out of local hubs comprising Aberdeen Airport, Edinburgh, Glasgow Airport and Leeds/Bradford, averaged six minutes. Overall in 2005 and 2006 Bmi regional was delegated as the most punctual airline. During this time, its parent airline bmi was delegated as the most punctual airline functioning out of Heathrow Airport, leading its competitor British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
