bmi goes double-daily on Moscow flights
European Airlines

As per the announcement made on 3rd January 2008, bmi, the second largest airline of London Heathrow is doubling its services between London Heathrow and Moscow Domodedovo with effect from 30 March 2008. This is certainly a good news for passengers.

This move marks the first venture of the airline into the mid haul market. This significant milestone has been made possible because of the overwhelming success of the daily services to Moscow launched in October 2006.

In addition to the above, the new timetable also finds an additional service operated in the late evening connecting Heathrow and Manchester. The number of services on the whole rises up to eight flights a day besides a daily service connecting Heathrow and Durham Tees Valley three times a day.

bmi managing director, Peter Spencer observed, "In launching the summer 2008 timetable we are pleased to be adding an extra flight to Moscow from Heathrow. Since launching the route less than eighteen months ago we have experienced encouraging growth and we now feel that by introducing an extra service we can provide an even more attractive schedule, thus widening its appeal to both point to point and connecting traffic at Heathrow."

Once the summer schedule is launched, the services between Heathrow and Leeds Bradford will be reduced to four times a day. Also, the once a day service between Heathrow and Inverness will be recalled in addition to the summer-only services to Alicante and Nice.
