On their return journey, flight will head out from Germany at 10.15 a.m. and will reach the West Midlands at 11 a.m.
Lufthansa's general manager for the UK and Ireland, Marianne Sammann, said, "Today is a very special day for Lufthansa and shows the importance of Birmingham within Lufthansa's worldwide network.
As well as offering our Birmingham passengers quick and easy access to Germany's second largest city, Hamburg city centre is just 20 minutes from the airport, the service also increases the availability of onward connections as Lufthansa continues to develop Hamburg as a mini-hub to Central and Eastern Europe".
The start of new route to Hamburg extends the airline's portfolio at Birmingham airport, which has offered services from the hub for more than twenty years and adds to its current routes to Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich.
Tickets for the new service are offered at a price starting from just £39 (one-way) in economy. Business class cabin seats are also available on the new service. This is a great opportunity for passengers to travel to Hamburg.
