Avis (www.avis.co.uk) is guaranteeing clients across the United Kingdom and Europe the price of fuel lower than the pump price when they pick up the car rental firm's 'Fuel up Front' service.

'Fuel up Front' permits Avis clients to pay in advance for a full tank of fuel at the time when they pick up their vehicle and then return it empty, without being bothered about making payment over the extras for taking advantage of the service as the car rental company will charge less than the per litre price at a local pump.

And, if the customers return the vehicle with the tank full, even with the 'Fuel Up Front' service, the car rental firm will give them back the tank charge.

Daniel McCarthy, Commercial Director, Avis UK, said, "We introduced Fuel up Front in 2006, and over the last few days have seen a real increase in the uptake of the service as fuel prices continue to rise.

The service is convenient and with the current price of petrol, it is not just time-saving but also cost-saving".

McCarthy added, "With fuel costs rising we expect to see many more people thinking twice about car ownership. Just downsizing your everyday vehicle can save you up to £6000 per year, and that's even with the cost of renting a vehicle every weekend".

The 'Fuel up Front' service is available at all the company's sites across the UK and Europe.
