25% to leave UK over Christmas
ebookers

A research released today shows that as many as one in four people living in the UK will be going out of the nation over the period of Christmas.

Ebookers.com conducted a survey of 8,000 holidaymakers in which it was found that about fifteen per cent of its clients say that they always prefer to go away over the Christmas period, and around 23 per cent will be going out for the first time at this year's Christmas.

Warm weather and Beaches offer a big draw for the holidaymakers who prefer to go away on during the Christmas time: 42 per cent of those surveyed say that catching the winter sun is the major reason why they love to go away.

Ebookers commented, "Despite us leaving the country, it's still for familiar ground - 65 per cent of Christmas holidaymakers will be travelling to a destination they have visited before and 22 per cent will be with their whole family. Another 22 per cent will be enjoying some quality time with their families, and perhaps the 25 per cent travelling alone will be in search of some mistletoe?"

Ebookers also finds that the trend of going away during the Christmas period is showing signs of getting more popular: nine out of ten people say that they would love to enjoy a more relaxing time in a hot place instead of staying in the UK and deal with drunken antics, rubbish gifts and hectic preparation.
