Brussels Airlines avoids competitive airports
European Airlines | SN Brussels Airlines

Industry analysts say that the principal reason for the success of Brussels airlines is that the carrier had managed to avoid the most competitive airports and has focused on the secondary hubs of some important cities of Europe. Most notably, with a successful track record, the airline could replace SN Brussels and Sabena.

For instance, Berlin is one good example to highlight the success story of Brussels airlines. Notably, among all the airlines operated from here, Brussels Airlines is the only carrier to serve the Tempelhof Airport, the historic airport of the German capital. This airport is all set to close down in the next three months. With all other commercial airlines having pulled themselves already out from this airport, Brussels airline is the only carrier to still continue its regular services between Berlin and Brussels.

Tempelhof Airport is the only airport located conveniently close to the city center of Berlin, proving to be highly convenient for busy business people who wish to avoid the lengthy commuting from either Tegel or Schoenefeld, the two main hubs of the city. Most notably, Brussels airlines enjoyed a successful monopoly on the Berlin-Tempelhof to Brussels route.

SN Brussels set to launch budget flights
European Airlines | SN Brussels Airlines

SN Brussels, the Belgian carrier is targeting to take on its rivals including Ryanair by presenting budget-friendly flights, while offering its premium passengers a full-service travel. This partnership will certainly give a stiff competition to other low-budget airlines, especially to Ryanair.

The carrier, which is flying from Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Manchester and London, will soon merge with Virgin Express. It is planning to offer two products internally with a single brand externally that will cater to the needs of passengers of both the individual airlines.

The President and Chief Executive of the company, Neil Burrows, said, "One will be a basic no-frills brand, at the back of the plane. The other will be a more 'plus' or 'premium' product, although not a replica of business class".

Brussels Airlines to increase flights to Entebbe
European Airlines | SN Brussels Airlines

SN BRUSSELS Airlines is set to launch a fourth flight from Entebbe to Brussels with the achievement of an A330 Airbus aircraft. The airline's vice-president for ground operations, Jan De Leeuw says in an interview, "We are pleased that the acquisition of an additional A330 Airbus allows us to increase the frequency of our flights to and from Uganda. This will enable us further improve the quality of our flights. Freight transport will also benefit from this frequency and capacity increase".

The only carrier that gives direct flights between Entebbe and Brussels every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Brussels Airlines, from December 16 will now have the new flight every Sunday. The new flight service will surely give a great boost to the region's tourism, and there is direct connection between these new flights and the freight transport between the two cities.

"In September, passengers would be able to select seat numbers and check in online", says De Leeuw. Some crew members would board at Entebbe as the airline advances the ability on its routes notably in Africa.

Following recent news of Viva Macau's expansion, with the introduction of key new routes, the airline has announced the appointment of Con Korfiatis as its new Chief Executive.
