Gulf Air increases frequency to Abu Dhabi

In response to the booming demands from the passengers in the route, Gulf Air has added up yet another flight to connect Abu Dhabi and Bahrain.

The additional service was launched on 1st April. Adding up with the three daily flights operated at present, Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain will offer the fourth flight, GF545/546. The said flight will be available four times a week flying between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Gulf Air Regional General Manager Sales, Mahfood Al Harthy remarked, "Our frequency increase between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain was in response to the growing passenger demand and the potential of the vast UAE market. We have slotted this fourth frequency in such a way to provide better connectivity with minimum waiting time for our customers travelling to Trivandrum, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Dhaka and Far East destinations, i.e., Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Bangkok, via Bahrain. It will be welcome choice for those making their summer travel plans."

Qantas premium economy is ready to fly

Qantas received its first flying machine equipped with the new Premium Economy cabin of the carrier.

Mr John Borghetti, Executive General Manager at the airline, said that the introduction of Premium Economy cabin presents passengers a fresh option in long haul international journey.

He said, "Qantas Premium Economy offers extra space and comfort and enhanced levels of service. We have invested significantly in developing this cabin, which is being progressively installed across our B747-400 fleet and will be available on every Qantas A380".

Qantas offers low fares to Asia

Qantas is presenting cut-priced tickets for its direct return flights from London Heathrow to Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali and Bangkok.

All the available fares include fees, taxes and all the airport related charges and are subject to availability of seat on the desired date of journey. Travel is allowed on the flights of Qantas and British Airways (BA).

SAS to start second flight from Bangkok to Stockholm

SAS Scandinavian Airlines will start operating its second non-stop route between Asia and Stockholm with the start of flights between Bangkok and Stockholm from October 29. The airline will operate the new service three times a week.

The new addition is a part of the airline's latest clear intercontinental focus to grow with additional non-stop flights between major Asian hubs and the Scandinavian capitals as announced previously this year.

Irmgard Goetjes-Pedersen, Acting General Manager SAS Australia and New Zealand, said, "The additional non-stop services direct to Stockholm provides an excellent alternative gateway to Northern Europe. With connections to a strong network of more than 45 destinations in Scandinavia, Finland the Baltics and Europe".

Bangkok hosts a road show to promote tourism

A road show was held in Bangkok on Monday by Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam provinces and Danang city in central Vietnam, to promote their tourism and cultural attractions.

The Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT) presided over the show. The show was attended by delegates of more than sixty travel companies and airlines as well as reporters from thirty Thai newspapers.

Administrators from over 30 tourist companies and hotels from the Vietnamese side are in Bangkok, who are looking for tie-ups with Thai associates.

Aloft Bangkok will open in 2010, it will be part of a 31-story development. The hotel's facilities will include meeting space, a spa, a full service restaurant and bar, a fitness center and indoor swimming pool. The hotel will be centrally located on Sukhumvit Road and will provide travelers easy access to the commercial and entertainment districts of Bangkok.
