In a survey pertaining to the launch of new service from this base, the residents of the Dundee area have been asked to voice their opinion on the prospects of a demand for a link that connects the city's airport with Amsterdam.
Recently, the Dundee Airport has published an online survey to collect useful data on the potential for a direct air link operated to one of the leading international hub airports across the globe, that shall eventually enable the airport to determine how many people would use the service if introduced and how often they would make use of it, so that the profitability of the route could be ascertained even before the launch.
A good number of people residing in the airport's catchments area presently fly to Amsterdam through Aberdeen and Edinburgh. Amidst this circumstance, the survey will gauge the potential market to offer direct flights from the Dundee Airport.

In a significant move, VLM Airlines has been named the most punctual airline for the year 2007 in the most popular Amsterdam to London City Airport route.
The recent figures released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority reveals that during last year, over 77% of the flights operated by the airline from Amsterdam to London City Airport departed punctually when the maximum time delay was not more than 15 minutes. On the other hand, only two percent of departures got delayed by more than one hour. In this regard, the VLM airlines surpassed other carriers operating in the route namely KLM, Easyjet, British Airways and BMI British Midland, which are offering flights to other airports at London.
Interestingly, as the announcement arrived, the airline was celebrating the 3rd birthday of this route on 4th April. In addition, the award follows yet another prestigious award of 'Passenger Airline Award 2007' presented by the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol last month appreciating the airline's London City service.

People who like the idea of travelling but find it a difficult task need not to worry, as the first virtual tourist board in Second Life has been introduced by The Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions.
Named as New Holland, it is completely constructed and owned by its residents, featuring the best of Holland. With a big canal crossing the whole island, it gives the look and feel just like the city of Amsterdam. A real treat can be expected, as the idea is very innovative and has a touch of artistry in it.
The island features cobblestone streets, bridges crossing the canals, boats, bicycles, typical Dutch and modern architecture, Dutch flags and tulip fields close by a Dutch windmill-tourists can expect just the replica of Amsterdam city before their eyes when they visit this place.

Hookers and their clients have been to retreat the narrow streets of the Wallen in Amsterdam since the 17th century when the city was the hub of a global trading kingdom inundated by sailors and merchants.
A Â25m (£17.5m) contract to buy 18 buildings and their 51 windows were potted by a public housing corporation.
Job Cohen, the city mayor, pledged to clean up the downtown back streets and determined to replace the neon lights and window prostitutes with stylish shops and eateries.

Not satisfied with building the world's biggest golf course, Australia has turned up with one more wacky plan to attract visitors down-under. In a recent survey by a travel magazine, Sydney has been chosen as the preferred city, and no wonder that more visitors attraction could further boost the interest of tourists and visitors in Australian tours. Seemingly, Neighbours' sun drenched streets have been drawing fans from the UK so successfully that Tourism Australia is willing to film a Japanese Soap Opera in Australia, in a bit to lure Japanese fans.
The establishment now has one renowned Japanese actor signed up for the plan and is expecting to get the cameras reeling in the coming months. This could be a real enjoying item for the visitors.

Elton John, Grammy and Academy Award-winner is set to give five performances during his visit to Australia in November and December in the current year. Not even a single performance will be held at Perth or WA, which is a major loss to this part of the continent. A chance of the sixth performance is increased due to the efforts in Tasmania and North Queensland.
Michael Chugg comments on the admirers, "There are two or three regional areas that would love to see Elton John play there and basically my attitude is, well, it's a big show, it's not easy to do, let's see how interested you are''. North Queensland and Tasmania were asked to make the John's concert available at Chugg Entertainment's company website (www.chuggentertainment.com).
Around 10,000 people were assumed to watch the programme while they were on tour and the same numbers of people were needed to make this practically happen."It'd be great if we could do that,''says Chugg.

Around 55 percent of appreciation is seen in the number of tourists passaging via Australia's airport since last decade. The reason behind this is the craziness of people for traveling and coming up of cheap transport, which has increased the mobility of people to such an extent.
The number of aircrafts would also have increased simultaneously in order to serve the increased number of tourists, but it didn't happened and much of the rush is seen in the larger planes nowadays. The flight frequency has been increased by some air carriers, but there has not been much done to adjust the rush-however, this has ensured all flights to be jam-packed.
The Bureau of Transport and Regional Economics conducted a survey, which proves that the figure of domestic visitors at almost all Australian airports has gone up by 55 per cent, from 56.2 million in 1997 to 87.3 million the previous year. There has been a tremendous traffic between major Australian cities.

The State Government has been called on by the Tourism Council of WA (TCWA) to proceed with a new multi-purpose outdoor stadium either at Kitchener Park or East Perth.
CEO of TCWA Ron Buckey has urged the State Government to press on the Australian administrators of cricket, football and rugby to agree with the Langoulant ReportÂ's recommendations in the interests of the larger community.
He said, Â"The longer the debate goes on the longer it is going to take for Western Australia to have a world class major stadiumÂ".

Perth travellers are at a greater risk of suffering blood clots from air travelÂa new report discovered that flying for more than four hours can increase the risk to almost double.
However, for travellers heading to the most popular destinations of Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, four hour flying is the minimum.
A four-hour flight not only double the risk of blood clots, or venous thromboembolism, but the risk remains high for a week after landing, found the World Health Organization investigation.
